SEED SPOT

GrowSouthwest attended the “OPEN HOUSE at SEED SPOT” on Wednesday night, where their fancy new office space was a full house of local Phoenix professionals. Upon arrival, we were greeted by co-founder Courtney Klein Johnson and for the counterpart, we saw Chris Petroff taking photos at the huge gilded picture frame in the corner.

Later on we bumped in to Jenny Poon, Founder of eeko studio and her friendly Community Manager at CO+HOOTS, Keith Mulvin. We also met some of SEED SPOT’s past startups and mentors, as well as an eager new startup applying to the Fall Program.

“SEED SPOT is a incubator focused on supporting Arizona’s most innovative social entrepreneurs; those creating high impact ventures that improve the lives of people and communities on a local, national, or global scale.

Whether a for-profit business with a social mission or a nonprofit organization with a sustainable revenue model – SEED SPOT supports entrepreneurs through an intense curriculum with community mentors and experts.”

Exploring the new SEED SPOT office!

SEED SPOT wants to encourage the Phoenix community to help them get the word out! They are looking for new startups who want to make a positive impact in society. In the past, SEED SPOT held one 8-month long program for their startups, and this time are trying out two 4-month programs. Your startup could learn at the newest incubator in downtown Phoenix! How cool is that? SEED SPOT even has plans for their new office to include co-working areas, making the deal even sweeter by sprinkling seeds for collaboration in every direction.

“Co-Founders Courtney Klein Johnson and Chris Petroff dreamed of creating a place where early stage social entrepreneurs could receive the support, mentorship, guidance and resources necessary to bring their dreams to life. It was not about about building a space for any or every entrepreneur – it was about building a community to support those that had dreams for building products, services, or technologies that improved the lives of people or communities on a local, national, or global level.”

If you feel your startup fits into this mindset, SEED SPOT wants YOU to apply today! As of right now, there are 14 days left to apply. So do it now! The program, mentors, advice and connections your startup could receive at SEED SPOT is invaluable. Click here to apply: seedspot.org/apply.
